Dieselex Gold Introduced Like a marriage that lasts 50 years, a brand that stands the test of time is quite an accomplishment. For half a century, Dieselex has been the flagship premium diesel fuel available through FS cooperatives. As modern diesel engines become more powerful, and workloads increase, fuel economy and performance are important considerations. FS has kept up with these changes, and the additive package in Dieselex has been reformulated and improved to further meet these needs. This new formulation is called Dieselex Gold and is the best value for any multi-functional premium diesel fuel in the marketplace. This fuel incorporates new improved components into the traditional formulation, with the total package now including cetane improver, detergents, corrosion inhibitor, lubricity enhancer, oxidation inhibitor, fuel stabilizer, demulsifer, and moisture control. The new moisture control component in Dieselex Gold raises the solubility limit of moisture in diesel fuel, allowing a managed amount of dissolved moisture to be consumed through the engine in a competetly safe manner, without harm to the diesel engine. This managed process helps reduce the accumulation of water bottoms, helps limit storage tank corrosion by drying out the storage tank, helps limit microbial growth by removing and controlling moisture accumulation, and reduces risks associated with neglected tank maintence procedures. A vast amount of testing has been performed to measure performance and operability. Testing has been performed over several million miles "in the field" and in the laboratory. Detergency was evaluated and enhanced for its ability to prevent injector nozzle deposit formation, the ability to clean up nozzle deposits, and for fuel efficiency. Substantial fuel economy improvement can be expected, and Dieselex Gold helps prevent the formation of gums and sediments to keep equipment running strong. Extensive testing was also conducted on lubricity, rust and corrosion, and fuel stability properties and protection. Performance benefits can be realized in all types of applications such as agricultural, off-road, commercial, and over-the-road vehicles. The new formulation exceeds all specifications in place today including the National Council on Weights and Measures requirements for a premium diesel fuel.
